Operation BackPack

Operation BackPack

The Charles Hyatt Foundation, (CHF) was able to collect the following for Operation Backpack.

Pencils – over 250
Pens – over 200
Erasers – 204
Markers – over 50
Crayons – over 100
Text Books – over 360
Backpacks – over 50

We take this time to thank ‪#‎trenchtownforlife‬ for choosing CHF to collaborate with on this meaningful and needed project. This is the first step to giving each recipient the tools to becoming positive professionals and this project fits easily within the three pillars on which the CHF stands; Access, opportunity, and Options.

With the gifting of these essential tools to the youth at Boys Town All Age School, we are taking the steps to giving them access to opportunities which will, in turn, ensure that each youth end up with life options.

As quoted from ‪#‎TrenchTownForLife‬ on their Facebook page

“Our very first ‪#‎OperationBackpack‬ drive has been such a fun way to launch the #TrenchTownForLife project!

Of the many people who supported this effort my deepest thanks goes out to Trench Town For Life’s strategic partner, ‪#‎TheCharlesHyattFoundation‬!

With their help Trench Town For Life’s Operation Backpack 2014 was able to raise approximately 219 backpacks, literally SEVERAL HUNDRED school supplies (enough for all students to receive supplies) and 50 reading books about unity, anti-bullying and second chances—a few of these reading books are actually the start of Boys Town School’s soon to be established on site Library/Media Center (announcement of this drive coming soon).

Charles Hyatt, Jr. and his team played a very integral role in getting the Jamaican public engaged in Operation Backpack by collecting donations, getting MegaMart to sell us backpacks at a favorable cost, getting his network involved in giving, and so much more.

As an entrepreneur one of the most challenging things to do is to identify people who share your vision and approach that vision with the same tenacity and commitment as you do. I’ve truly found exactly that in Charles Hyatt, Jr., his wife, his team, AND WE’VE ONLY JUST BEGUN! More announcements soon on what we’ll be doing together at‪#‎BoysTownSchool‬ in ‪#‎Kingston‬, ‪#‎Jamaica‬!!
