Straight Talk

Ity and Fancy Cat

With our “Straight Talk”  project we have partnered with Alpha Boys home in Kingston and Boys Town All Age School, in Trench Town. Through this partnership the Foundation has come up with monthly sessions at the schools as a way to motivate the youngsters in achieving their goals.

What we do with “Straight Talk” is bring in a positive professional practitioner and have them “reason” with the students. This is NOT A LECTURE about ‘you can do it! Stick to it!’ and such, but a fun interactive reasoning that is meant to say, ‘I make a living out of this profession and this is how I did it!!’
So far the talks have involved Oliver Samuels, Mykal Cushnie, Protoje, and Dutty Bookman, Christopher “Jonny” Daley, Winston “Sparrow” Martin, Dr. Michael Abrahams, Tony Rebel, Blakka Ellis, Ity and Fancy Cat, Assassin “Agent Sasco” and Maria “Karamanti” Jackson of Maria Jackson Entertainment, “DJ Redeem” from Roots FM, and Luis Bon-Ami a US Marine Corps Officer from the US Embassy, Kabaka Pyramid, Junior Lincoln, Captain I-CAN, Delroy Morgan, Wayne-J, and a host of others.
With each session we have noticed positive change in the students.  The schools have mentioned just how much more focused the students become.  Students have even written letters by hand expressing their appreciation to the foundation for getting involved.
We are very happy with this project and that is why we see it as a major part of what the foundation does.
